2.3. OCR Text CorrectionUp one level
There are two ways of correcting the OCR text, either through the Catalog Page Viewer screen (whole page editing), or from the view screen for an element of a Catalog Page.
Whole Page Editing
In the Catalog Pages View screen, when hovering over the text for a line, if you see this icon, it means that clicking on the text will display an input form with that text, and allow you to correct it. If you see this icon, it means the item is locked and can not be edited. Becasue another user may edit the line of text you are looking at before you click on it, you may see a message stating that the item can not be editied. The message should contain the time when the other user's lock will expire. If another user has edited and saved their changes before you click to edit, when the form is displayed, you will see the latest text that the other user entered.
View Screen Editing
While on the View screen for an element of a Catalog Page, you have the option of correcting the OCR text, by clicking on the ‘edit’ button. Click on ‘edit’ will bring you to a screen where the Catalog Page is on the left hand side in the Viewer and the actual OCR text of the page is on the right hand side in text boxes.
Clicking in a text box, will highlight the corresponding in the View, and conversely, hovering over a line of text in the Viewer will highlight the corresponding text box on the right hand side.
Because a Page may contain other elements, e.g., Sections and Lots, only the text for the element you are editing will highlight.
Currently only one person at a time may edit an element and only one under review edit is allowed. If you attempt to edit an element and receive a message stating it is locked you will either have to wait until the lock expires or the edit under review is accepted. In addition, when you edit an element, you are given a lock on that element for a maximum of 30 minutes. If you do not click save before your lock expires, you will not be able to save your changes.
Using the Viewer
The Viewer component is helpful in the editing process by allowing you to zoom in on the text you wish to edit to see it better, as well as highlighting which line of text corresponds to the OCR text on the right hand side.
